S-Series Universal GPD

All KENT & MASTERS Saddles MUST be FITTED by a Society of Master Saddler's Registered Qualified Saddle Fitter to ensure it is fitted correctly. Please see our Saddle Fitting Services for details of charges and appointments. If you live more than 40 miles from postcode DL159HA please contact us before placing an order to avoid disappointment. If you are outside our area we will endeavor to put you touch with another SMS Fitter who is a Kent & Masters Stockist.

If you order a saddle this will simply reserve the saddle (or contribute towards a saddle) for you. Our SMS Fitter will then contact you to make an appointment to bring out a selection of saddles including the saddle of your choice. The sale will be completed by our SMS Saddle Fitter with yourself once they are happy with the fit. This allows for any adjustments to be made on site and ensures your saddle is correctly fitted.

DON'T FORGET TO ORDER YOUR GULLET R BAR (priced separately) WHEN ORDERING.

We will fit the R-Bar of your choice. Widths from Narrow/Medium to Extra Wide Available.

This saddle will suit you if you prefer to concentrate on flatwork, dressage and hacking instead of jumping. It has a generous seat for riders who like the feel of ‘more room’ in the seat, or if you are slightly wider in the hips.

All Kent & Masters saddles share the features below. This S-Series Universal GPD benefits from superior craftsmanship, hide leather on the seat and knee rolls, plus higher specification design details for a truly luxurious feel and appearance. It also features the following details:

A straighter cut panel and longer flaps than the Universal GP, to accommodate the longer leg position required by dressage and flatwork.
A generous panel with a good bearing surface, and wide channel for spine clearance.
Full length, generous front gussets
While this saddle has a standard-wither gullet depth, it offers a very universal fit for a variety of conformations.
A wider, flatter seat, ideal for the fuller figure.
Velcro knee blocks under the flap which can be positioned to suit your leg length and position. Ghosted stitching on the knee pad helps it contour neatly around the block and ensures added comfort.
Changeable girthing arrangement which allows saddle stability to be optimised instantly (see girthing options below).

We have been making saddles at our workshop in the West Midlands for more than 25 years. Our skilled craftsmen are qualified Master Saddlers who use traditional saddle-making techniques to ensure each and every saddle is made with consistency, care, love and attention to detail.

Pressure testing

We test all our designs thoroughly using Pliance Pressure mapping to ensure the saddles perform to the highest standards of pressure distribution, allowing your horse to move freely and comfortably without hindrance.

Changeable gullet bar

A changeable gullet bar allows you or your saddle fitter to modify the width of the saddle’s gullet to suit the horse’s wither profile as the horse changes shape with either exercise, muscle development, maturity or rest. There are 8 options in the short S-bar and 7 in the long R-bar.

Wool is a natural fibre and provides superior softness and comfort for the horse because it moulds and settles quickly, giving optimum panel contact with the horse’s back. Two reinforced flocking slots make it easy for your saddle fitter to do any necessary adjustments to fit on-site
