Flocking and Repairs

As part of your saddle consultation we are able to undertake flocking adjustments on-site to help achieve the best fit for your horse.

It is important to remember that flocking adjustments are only to fine tune the fit of a well fitting saddle as no amount of flocking can compensate for, or make good an ill fitting saddle. To achieve best fit it is important that your saddle has the correct tree and panel.

We are also able to offer a full re-flocking service at our workshop or by the manufacturer, whereby your saddle and tree will undergo a full health check as part of the service. Full re-flocks start from £150.00 depending on the saddle brand.

We recommend that your saddle is totally re-flocked on average every two years. This is because as the wool ages and compresses it can become uneven, hard or lumpy which can result in pressure points under saddle for your horse.

Following a total re-flock a second visit is required to reassess the saddle and performance and carry out and further adjustments on site, which is subject to the usual call out charges.

We can also assist with repairs which will be carried out by one of our partner Master Saddlers or Manufacturers. On average repairs take around two weeks during which time we are able to offer a loan service for a small charge of £10 per week.

Saddles that require re-treeing will be sent back to the manufacturer for replacement and servicing.
